Gallery Players to Perform at Gallery Row in Peachtree City’s Kedron Shopping Center

In an amazingly serendipitous arrangement, the Gallery Players, Offshoot Productions’ improvisation troupe, will perform at Gallery Row coffee shop on Sunday evening, August 24. The troupe, which has met with audience laughter, participation and enthusiasm during the past eight months, takes stage at 7 p.m. at Gallery Row’s Kedron location, at Hwy 74 and Peachtree Parkway. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

A $10 cover charge includes complimentary coffee. Delectable cheesecake will be available for purchase.

This improv troupe of inventive, quick-witted and versatile performers includes actors who have appeared in a wide range of professional venues, from the Georgia Renaissance Festival to repertory companies in other states and many Atlanta theatres.

Each performance is unique, and the group has hours of material to call upon at the drop of a hat. Furthermore, because the audience is always different, the show is always different. For example, in the ensemble’s version of the Dating Game, the audience assigns different characters (real or fictional, from Cleopatra to Orphan Annie) to the women competing for a bewildered contestant. In another scene, laughs abound when the players must begin each line with the subsequent letter of the alphabet and the audience gets to blow the whistle—literally—if an actor slips up. Like variety? Watch the actors turn an everyday scene into a Shakespearean tragedy, science fiction movie, musical comedy, soap opera, Dr. Seuss book or television sitcom.

The company is scheduled to return to Gallery Row on September 7.
